I’m not sure at what point in my adult life I stopped knowing how to get dressed for a party or really ANYTHING. (Note my black pant problem last month.)
But it seems I’m not alone in the bar and bat mitzvah circuit for needing to ask friends also going to the same party what my kids and I are supposed to wear. (Bryan, bless him, dresses up a bit no matter what level of “chic” or casual the invitation has called for.)
I tried to get to the bottom of this “what to wear” dilemma with input from friends who live around the country. Spoiler alert: I’m still confused. And I do suspect Minnesota is more casual than most places. But I hope my last paragraph helps if you can get that far.
