What’s making me happy THIS week is going to see Dax Shepard at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis tomorrow night with my fellow #armcherries. Dax and his co-host, Monica, will do their Armchair Expert podcast live, and we still don’t know who their guest is. I can’t wait to find out!
I love that my friend, Carolyn, creator of my favorite line of note cards, Jotted Lines, organized a whole bunch of us from ModernWell and elsewhere to have dinner together then head to the Orpheum together.
We are all “armcherries” aka, superfans of Dax’s podcast. But most of us do not have the passion and event organizing that Carolyn possesses. I’m the kind of person who would say, “Let’s go see Dax!” then to do nothing about it. Carolyn was sitting at her laptop the moment tickets were released to make sure we could all go.
What’s so great about Dax? He’s an excellent interviewer who asks deep questions in the spirit of Howard Stern’s interviews. He interviews celebrities, authors, and guests who are experts in their fields. Some of my favorite episodes have been with: Lauren Graham, Wendy Mogel, David Sedaris, Brene Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert, Conan O’Brien, Esther Perel, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jeff Garlin, Will Ferrell, and of course, Kristen Bell.
