Friendship Roundup #9

Friendship Articles and More

It’s the Friday Friendship roundup! I see so many friendship-related things throughout the week, either because I find them myself or people send them to me. I’m going to keep sharing them on my site twice a month.

Articles and Episodes About Friendship I’ve Liked Lately

Efficiency shouldn’t be the main goal when it comes to friendship. “Intimate relationships take time to build and their benefits are not measurable, at least not in immediate and quantifiable ways.”  Brad Stulberg in the NYT

How to bond with a stranger. Really good, actionable tips for making friends as an adult from Mia Brabham at Shondaland. (Thanks for sending this one, Rebecca J!)

Have you ever been jealous of a friendship? I enjoyed these musings from Jessica Francis Kane in the NYT.

Gretchen Rubin and her sister, Elizabeth Craft, discussed the idea of creating pop up discussion groups in episode 376 of Happier. It’s a shorter commitment than a monthly book club and could be created around a newfound passion for a certain show or topic, for example.
