My iPhone Intervention Begins!
You know that panicked, twitchy feeling you get when you can’t find your cellphone? I get that feeling too often, even when the phone is simply in my purse because I’m out with a friend and don’t want the phone on the table. I’m always aware of the darn thing whether it’s around or not. And I don’t want to live that way anymore.
This week marks the first in a series of articles I’m writing about trying to cut my smartphone use in half by this time next year. I’m not doing a complete “unplugging” or anything that I (or others) could not realistically maintain. My goal is to find ways to chip away at the time I spend with the phone nearby or with my eyes glued to its addictive little screen. I hope my experiments will help others who suffer from the same problem because I KNOW I’m not alone.
Please check out the first article in the series, published in The Jewish Daily Foward!
