It’s been a long time since I’ve had a new short story out in the world. I’m excited to report that this week Matchbook Literary Magazine published my flash fiction story “Academic Questions.”
I’ve been reading the little (in length, not punch) stories in Matchbook for years and was REALLY excited when I got the email with the acceptance for this one. I love that the editor also makes a space on the side for the writer to explain a bit more about how the story came to exist.
Here’s part of the first line: They were halfway between Kansas City and St. Paul on their way to Joanna’s mother’s wedding to a man nobody in the family had met when Greg admitted . . .
